The Zeta Pi Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. is committed to being a reliable, nurturing, and service-driven brotherhood that leads through meaningful action on and off the LMU campus.

We strive to be impactful in our community, collaborate with Black organizations and businesses, and provide a safe, resourceful space for all. We embody the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service.”

Blue at LMU | A History

The Black Campus Movement at LMU institutionalized the Black Students’ Union (BSU) in 1968, Office of Black Student Services (OBSS), and African American Studies in 1970.

In 1974, Phi Beta Sigma became the first Black fraternity to be granted access to the LMU campus.

Under the guidance of Bro. Oscar Mogan, undergraduates from Loyoloa Marymount University and CSULB pledged together to become men of Sigma. They formed the Zeta Pi Chapter and Zeta Tau Chapter respectively.

Though the chapter had been dormant, the brothers of Zeta Pi chapter paved the way for Black Greek life to thrive on campus.

In the Fall of 2025, the next wave of Phi Beta Sigma men at Loyola Marymount University reemerged to leave their own mark...
